The Air Power Development Centre conducts a number of regular events on air power related issues. You can register your interest by e-mail to receive notification for upcoming events. Some of these major activities are:
Past RAAF History ConferencesThe RAAF has been conducting history conferences each year since 1992 with the aim of promoting interest in its historical development, its role in past conflicts and deployments and the achievements of its former members. For details on future history conferences, contact the Office of Air Force History via e-mail or phone (02) 6266 1447 RAAF Heritage AwardsThe RAAF Heritage Awards commenced in 1987 with the aims of enhancing our historical records and art, and to foster and encourage interest in the RAAF's heritage. The Awards are conducted in parallel to RAAF History Conference, with the winning entries being presented at the Conference's conclusion. There are two categories of entries - art and literature. The Air Force retains all winning entries and since its inception a valuable collection of works has been amassed. It is anticipated the next Award presentation will be in 2007. Air Power Issues SeminarsAir Power Issues Seminars cover a broad range of topics relevant to Air Power and will be delivered by a range of guest speakers as well as Air Power Development Centre staff. The Seminars are generally held in the R1 Theatrette, Russell Offices, and are publicised by DEFGRAM. RAAF Air Power ConferenceThe RAAF's biennial Air Power Conference, held in Canberra, is now established as the foremost event of its type in the region and continues to gain increasing international recognition. Themes of recent conferences were Air Power and Joint Forces in 2000 and Conflict, the State and Air Power in 2002.
