These profiles and stories were donated to the RAAF Museum by the Gold Coast Branch of the Air Crew Association.

Service Profile: Jim Fuger

James Charles Fuger DFC (ACA 10352) served in the Royal Australian Air Force from 1941 to 1945.

As a pilot, he flew Tiger Moths, Ansons, Oxfords, Wirraways, Sterlings and Lancasters.

His flying in Australia was conducted at Western Junction, Mallala and Deniliquin before being posted to the United Kingdom for further training, then active service in the European theatre, where he captained Lancasters.

Jim's UK flying experience took him to Silverstone, Wigsley and Syerston, No. 44 Squadron at Spilsby and HCU Swinderby.

In recognition of his meritorious service, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

On returning to Australia, Jim was discharged in October 1945.
