Lake Boga
With the speed of the Japanese advance through South-East Asia, a remote facility was required for Australian and US flying boat servicing and repair, and Lake Boga was chosen for this function in 1942. Initial personnel arrived to establish No 1 Flying Boat Repair Depot in June of that year, and over the next five years, the unit would service RAAF, Dutch and American flying boats. The station at Lake Boga closed in November 1947.
